About the role
The Cost Accountant Analyst will collect and analyze financial information related to the organization’s expenses, seeking ways to improve the accuracy of budgets and forecasts, and to decrease the cost of assigned departments and projects.
Responsibilities
- Gather and compile cost information
- Maintain database concerning cost and expenses
- Perform monthly and year-end closing
- Analyze expenses and cost transactions; ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reports of expenses, including breakdowns of project costs, forecasts of remaining expenses, and opportunities to increase efficiency
- Conduct market research as needed to recommend changes to pricing or business models
- Prepare periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs
- Analyze and report product and part costs
- Create ideas for improvement
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Work Experience
- Experience with standard costing, activity-based costing (ABC), and inventory management
- Experience in the lighting industry or a related field is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good ethical characteristics and behaviors
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office Suite or similar software as well as accounting software
- Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in Korean is preferred but not required (for communication with HQ)
