About the role

Ivy Tech Madison is seeking a Cosmetology Instructor to join our team at the Madison Correctional Facility. The ideal candidate will help students achieve their potential while providing hands-on training and preparing them for state board testing.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and guide the class in an efficient and effective manner
• Provide hands-on training
• Maintain records of student attendance, academic progress, and grades
• Prepare students for State Board testing and licensing
• Achieve Indiana Workforce Development Educational Functioning Level Assessment Policy
• Record student data in a Department of Workforce Development database
• Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with students, peers, and community leaders
• Provide for the care and protection of Ivy Tech and Facility property
• Attend meetings as required

Requirements

• Possess a valid state cosmetology license AND a beauty culture instructor license
• Prior work experience in a correctional facility is preferred

Qualifications

• Ability to approach subject matter in a positive and enthusiastic manner
• Knowledge of Indiana Workforce Development Educational Functioning Level Assessment Policy

• Experience working in a correctional facility environment

$48,000 - $52,000 annually
