Corrections Trainee / Corrections Deputy

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of entry‑level certified or non‑certified duties related to the security, safety, order, operation and maintenance of county jail facilities, including detention and monitoring of inmates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Must be at least 19 years of age by 09/24/2026.
• Attendance at one of the announced testing and interview days is required.
• Ability to pass an extensive background investigation.
• Physical requirements:
  • Run 1.5 miles in 16:11.
  • Complete 14 continuous push‑ups.
  • Hold a plank position for 30 seconds.

Pay

Corrections Trainees start at $26.00 per hour and increase to $31.21 per hour once certified (typically within the first 8–12 months of employment).
