Location: Red Wing, MN

Full-time, unlimited (permanent) position. Day shift, Monday - Friday.

About the role

This position exists to provide support to the Education Department in meeting institutional educational goals at the Minnesota Correctional Facility – Red Wing. The role involves contact with students who are incarcerated.

Responsibilities

  • Operate office equipment and use email, calendar, presentation, word processing, database, and spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar).
  • Tutor students in reading, writing, math, and educational technology.
  • Manage records, gather and maintain statistical and other data for reporting purposes.
  • Work successfully with a diverse population using strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Experience in an educational or office setting.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Skills in records management sufficient to gather and maintain data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an Associate’s degree or higher.
  • Experience and skill in educational program platforms sufficient to monitor and manage a computer lab.
  • Classroom experience, including teaching, conducting training classes/workshops, and/or tutoring.
  • Experience working in an educational or correctional setting.

Physical Requirements

The selected finalist is required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position and may be required to complete a tuberculosis screening prior to hire. For a copy of the PDA, email Alicia Baumgart.

Additional Requirements

  • Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check, including successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements.
  • Employment history, reference checks, and review of job performance and discipline records may be conducted.
  • New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
  • The Minnesota Department of Corrections does not sponsor work visas.
  • All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay

$21.73 - $30.20 per hour; $45,372 - $63,057 annually.
