Corrections Maintenance Foreman - SCI Mercer
Description of Work
This role focuses on leading inmate work crews as they complete important maintenance and construction tasks throughout SCI Mercer. It also involves coordinating schedules, inspecting completed tasks, and supporting maintenance needs across multiple trades.
- Crew Leadership: Direct inmate work crews performing routine construction, maintenance, lawn care, snow removal, and janitorial tasks
- Work Inspection: Review completed assignments and ensure they meet facility standards
- Equipment Guidance: Teach proper use and preventive care of machinery and vehicles
- Tool Control: Issue, track, and account for all tools and materials used for work assignments
- Purchasing Support: Identify needed materials and submit purchase requests
- Trade Assistance: Assist staff with semi-skilled and skilled tasks in multiple trades
Qualifications Required
Required Experience and Training: Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
