Responsibilities

• Food Service Instruction: Instruct inmates in food preparation, production, service, and baking
• Safety Oversight: Ensure proper operation, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of tools, equipment, and work areas
• Meal Preparation: Guide timely meal production by following recipes, adjusting ingredients, and monitoring quality
• Supply Management: Review census and menu data, requisition and store supplies, and enforce first‑in, first‑out procedures
• Inmate Supervision: Plan work assignments, evaluate performance, and maintain care, custody, and control of inmate workers

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large‑scale food production operation; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
