About the role

Responsibilities

  • Implementation
    • Consult with facility/department leadership to assess program needs and implement systems of improvement.
    • Inform facility and department supervisors of findings.
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop implementation plans and document goals and progress for the Program Quality Improvement (PQI) team.
    • Forward progress documents to the Research Department for upload.
    • Participate as a team member on the PQI team, completing assigned tasks accurately and timely.
    • Utilize appropriate tools and frameworks to identify problems, develop metrics, assess progress, and evaluate achievement.
    • Assist in identifying and implementing assessment tools and sustainability plans.
    • Develop client intervention strategies to facilitate successful outcomes.
    • Collaborate on policies, procedures, and training programs promoting compliance and quality assurance, including monitoring for fidelity.
  • Training, Mentoring, and Ongoing Coaching
    • Coordinate with the Staff Development Programming Manager and/or Organizational Development Manager.
    • Complete new staff meetings as assigned and document per department instructions.
    • Demonstrate understanding of all Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) used at the Agency, including:
      • Effective Practices in Correctional Settings II
      • Cognitive Skills interventions and groups
      • Core Correctional Practices
      • Strategies for Effective Pretrial Supervision
      • Motivational Interviewing
      • Coaching Network for Change
      • Core Correctional Practices - Reimagined

      • Behavior Management System
    • Become a certified coach in EBPs as directed by supervisor.
    • Conduct quality assurance (scheduled and unscheduled) for assigned EBPs.
    • Provide ongoing formal and documented education and training for employees in EBPs.
    • Conduct ad hoc trainings to meet program and staff needs.
    • Model effective interactions with clients consistently.
    • Serve as a resource for staff by providing guidance and support on compliance and EBP implementation.
    • Complete staff coaching sessions as assigned and document per department instructions.
    • Assist employees with implementing cognitive thinking and behavioral techniques.
    • Provide on-the-job coaching through methods such as direct observation, audio review, one-on-one meetings, unit observations, and documentation review feedback.
    • Mentor facility supervisors and peer coaches in developing proficiency in EBPs.
    • Collaborate with supervisors to select and implement tailored intervention strategies aligned with professional development goals.
    • Evaluate employees’ EBP implementation and monitor progress toward goals.
    • Assist program supervisors in identifying and certifying peer coaches.
    • Utilize technology, including audio/video recording and ORION systems, to monitor staff interactions and EBP delivery.
  • Data
    • Utilize Kohezion for tracking proficiency progress accurately and timely.
    • Demonstrate a basic understanding of STATA and spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
    • Enter and maintain data in databases as directed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Assist with the development and utilization of Agency dashboards and spreadsheets for tracking and presenting data.
    • Initiate and complete required reports accurately and timely as requested by supervisor.
    • Compile quality improvement data promptly for monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports.
    • Monitor documentation for form, content, and legibility to ensure data fidelity and accuracy.
    • Analyze data comprehensively to evaluate program outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Evaluation and Improvement
    • Evaluate facility operations and implementation with audit standards, keeping legal requirements in mind.
    • Conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Research, plan, and conduct reviews to evaluate practices and standards, making recommendations based on findings.
    • Assist with audit preparation and meet with external auditors as needed.
    • Leverage current research findings and Agency reports to improve program enhancement strategies.
    • Develop and utilize departmental instruction sheets.
    • Conduct quality assurance and analyze department processes.
    • Utilize department tools, such as the After Action Review and What’s the Issue Form, to assess and improve processes.
    • Evaluate program EBP proficiency achievement and its ability to sustain proficiency without intensive assistance.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop policies, procedures, and training programs promoting compliance and quality assurance.
    • Review and recommend revisions of program procedures to facility supervisors.
    • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
    • Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and employees.
    • Facilitate productive communication while maintaining professional, prosocial relationships.
    • De-escalate potentially volatile situations using appropriate EBPs and interventions.
    • Utilize department tools, such as the Closing the Feedback Loop form, to communicate concerns with facility leadership.
    • Provide input into disciplinary actions and action plans if necessary.
    • Effectively conduct internal and external trainings.
    • Participate in the development and/or presentation of workshops/trainings at outside conferences after proper approval.
    • Identify and clarify major facility and critical client incidents, take appropriate action, document them, and inform direct supervisor.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records, documents, and outside correspondence according to Agency specifications.
    • Express empathy regarding client situations as appropriate.
    • Verbalize, recognize, and reinforce prosocial thinking and behaviors within program guidelines.
    • Recognize antisocial thinking and behaviors and attempt to extinguish them in a non-threatening manner.
  • Security and Safety
    • Comply with all Agency security standards, including procedures and electronic equipment/devices.
    • Perform job duties in a safe and conscientious manner.
    • Comply with safety policies and procedures, utilize safety precautions, and communicate unsafe practices or conditions.
    • Use required PPE, participate in safety drills, and attend safety training.
  • Additional Duties
    • Uphold clients’ rights and maintain confidentiality according to Agency policies, state law, and federal regulations (e.g., 42 C.F.R. Part 2, HIPAA).
    • Adjust schedule to provide services to all program staff regardless of shift and notify direct supervisor of schedule changes.
    • Travel as part of department rotation schedule to local/regional areas to meet facility/program needs.
    • Attend and participate in team meetings, Advisory Board meetings, internal and external committee meetings, and task forces.
    • Manage time and organize work demands to meet established deadlines.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate, organized, and updated individual files, records, progress notes, and correspondence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement, staff training/mentoring, and/or Evidence-Based Practices implementation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data tracking.
  • Experience in database management, statistical software, and project management is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation and a driving record that does not preclude coverage by Agency liability insurance.
  • Cognitive skills needed to complete tasks, including learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Ability to perform under stress and/or in emergencies.
  • Ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.

Pay

  • Starting rate: $21.00/hour (bachelor's degree)
  • Starting rate: $22.50/hour (master's degree)
