Corrections Community Center Monitor (Harrisburg CCC)

About the role

Guide and support individuals as they work toward positive change at the Harrisburg Corrections Community Center (CCC). The Corrections Community Center Monitor helps maintain a safe, stable, and encouraging environment for reentrants as they progress through their community transition.

Responsibilities

• Safety Oversight: Monitor reentrant behavior, maintain activity logs, and observe center operations.
• Security Checks: Conduct counts, searches, fire drills, and inspections of reentrants, property, and living areas.
• Information Guidance: Provide orientation, explain rules, and give direction regarding available public services.
• Behavior Documentation: Record observations, issue misconducts, and participate in disciplinary hearings.
• Support Services: Assist reentrants in making necessary adjustments that promote a successful community return.
• Public Interaction: Respond to visitor questions, address concerns, and serve as a contact for law enforcement agencies.

Qualifications

• Willing and able to work in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
• Ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Legal Requirements: Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
• Preferred: Two (2) years of public safety or security experience (e.g., correctional setting, law enforcement, military security).
• Preferred: One (1) year of experience providing direction or guidance to individuals (e.g., lead worker, supervisor, informal counseling, military orders).

Pay

Selected candidates new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at a starting annual salary of $41,999.00 (before taxes).

Schedule

Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week. Community Corrections Centers operate three work shifts covering the facility 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Telework is not available for this position.
