Corrections Case Manager III - Central Office
About the role
The Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking a highly responsible individual to join the Central Transfer Authority in Central Office. This position involves reviewing and approving/denying transfers within the State of Missouri, managing reservation-based program referrals, and handling interstate corrections compact transfer requests.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve/deny transfers within the State of Missouri, ensuring appropriate assignments into future institutions.
- Determine eligibility for treatment programs and communicate with offenders, supervisors, courts, and families.
- Ensure timely and accurate bed reservations and transfers of treatment offenders through frequent interdivisional communication.
- Manage and maintain case loads for interstate corrections compact transfer requests, ensuring safety and appropriate housing.
- Complete monthly progress reports and make appropriate notations in computer records.
- File documents and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Set up transportation and ensure timely correspondence with all stakeholders.
- Afford assistance with Grievance Unit appeals and special projects within DAI.
Requirements
- One or more years of experience as a Corrections Case Manager within the Missouri Department of Corrections.
- Six or more years of correctional experience.
- Extensive working knowledge of the classification manual and various security levels.
- Fluency in using OPII, MOCIS, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with electronic folders and various shared network drives.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, plus one or more years of experience as a Corrections Case Manager within the Missouri Department of Corrections, or six or more years of correctional experience.
- Substitution of earned credit hours from an accredited college or university for up to four years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year.
Skills
- Computer efficiency, particularly in using OPII, MOCIS, Microsoft Office, and electronic folders.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the ICA/RCA and other classification knowledge.

Pay
The Department of Corrections offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
Schedule
This is a highly responsible position that requires a flexible schedule, including shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and employment at a 24/7 congregate care facility.
