About the role
This position is dedicated to overseeing or providing supervision for direct care Youth Services Specialists. It involves managing various aspects such as scheduling, movement of juveniles, security, and daily programming.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage staff and youth movements
- Oversee admissions and releases
- Manage daily programming, recreation, meals, medical referrals, and customer service
- Identify and address performance concerns and ensure compliance with DYS policies
- Supervise and train direct care staff, ensuring timely and quality work
- Support and coach staff in trauma-responsive practices and the Sanctuary Model
- Conduct monthly Reflective Supervision sessions
- Respond to and assess crisis situations, ensuring safety and well-being of all youth and staff
- Ensure adherence to DYS policies and protocols
- Monitor and authorize the use of mechanical restraints and seclusion
- Implement and enforce safety and security measures
- Document all activities and incidents accurately
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in youth services or a similar field. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of the DYS Policy and QAYS DYS Compliance Standards is essential.
