Correctional Senior Food Service Worker
About The Position
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office has an opportunity for multiple Correctional Senior Food Service Workers throughout Riverside County. The incumbents will be responsible for preparing food and overseeing the work of inmates at various facilities. Additionally, the Correctional Senior Food Service Workers will be responsible for serving, cleaning kitchen facilities, and performing other related duties as required.
- Current possession of a food handlers card and ServSafe certification.
- Required to work a rotating shift with shifts taking place every 4 months.
- Shifts include: Shift one: 3:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Shift two: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
Pay
Salary Range: Correctional Senior Food Service Worker = $20.3091 - $30.2339
Hiring Bonus: The bonus is $10,000 spread over 5 years. $500-Upon hiring $500-After 6 months (successful probation period) $1000- @ 12 months $2,000-@ 24 months $2,000-@36 months $2,000-@ 48 months $2,000 @ 60 months.

Qualifications
- Experience: One year of experience in the preparation and serving of food that would have developed the knowledges and abilities listed below.
- Knowledge of: The methods, practices, utensils, and equipment used in serving food and cleanup activities such as food and dish carts and dishwashers; the techniques, utensils, knives, and equipment used for chopping, slicing, mixing, and measuring foodstuff used in preparing food; sanitation methods and practices associated with food handling and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and food serving areas and equipment; occupational hazards and safety precautions of kitchen and food service areas and equipment; the preparation and serving of food for special diets.
- Ability to: Read, understand, and follow oral and written directions; write simple diet menu instructions; perform simple math calculations; be courteous and tactful with staff members; instruct and train inmates and others in the methods and techniques used in serving food and clean up activities; provide clear and concise oral instructions; maintain effective working relationships with others; prepare and keep simple records pertaining to food service quality control; supervise and inspect the work of Food Service Workers; coordinate the work of Food Service Workers.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Possession of a valid California Driver's License shall be required as driving of commercial-style box trucks and passenger transport vehicles will be required.
