What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing details with site contacts according to post instructions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, and support movement control procedures for people, vehicles, and/or deliveries as directed by site policies.
• Communicate with supervisors, staff, and/or public agency representatives regarding unusual activity, operational concerns, and security-related issues observed during the shift.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
