Correctional Security Guard - Unarmed

About the role

Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a government corrections location. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and appropriate emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and controlled movement areas while following post orders and established protocols for visitor processing, identification checks, and restricted area access.
• Support daily operations by preparing reports, maintaining logs, and assisting with security-related procedures related to inmate movement, staff escorts, and/or facility activities as directed by site policies.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
