Correctional Recreation/Recreational Therapist - $2,080 per week

Nightingale's List is seeking a travel Correctional Recreation/Recreational Therapist for a 24-week assignment in Crescent City, California.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead therapeutic recreation programs addressing the emotional, social, and physical needs of inmates.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct assessments to determine inmate interests, abilities, and therapeutic needs.
• Facilitate group and individual recreational therapy sessions focused on coping skills, stress management, social interaction, and leisure education.
• Document all treatment sessions, assessments, and progress notes in accordance with facility and CDCR guidelines.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings and contribute to comprehensive inmate care planning.
• Support inmate transitions and pre-release preparation by promoting healthy recreation and community reentry skills.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to all California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• CTRS License
• American Heart Association BLS

Pay

The pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
