Correctional Officer WERDCC (Full-Time)

About the role

Responsibilities

• Maintains security in buildings/towers/other posts of an adult correctional facility
• Intervenes during emergencies or altercations and gains physical control of offenders
• Supervises movement of offenders inside/outside the correctional facility
• Counsels offenders on minor adjustment problems and refers serious issues to proper staff
• Performs work in accordance with established rules/regulations/post orders/specific instructions

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Ability to complete Defensive Tactics and Standard First Aid/CPR training
• May require ability to complete and maintain firearms certification training
• Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license

Must possess the ability to perform tasks related to corrections, including maintaining security, intervening in emergencies, supervising offenders, and performing administrative duties.

Pay

Hourly Pay: $20.70
