Correctional Officer - TCKC (Full-Time)

About the role

Responsibilities

• Maintain security in correctional facilities
• Intervene during emergencies or altercations
• Search offenders and their living quarters for contraband
• Escort and transport offenders to designated locations
• Supervise offenders during various activities
• Inspect for health and safety hazards
• Prepare and submit reports on offender behavior
• Discuss minor issues with offenders and refer serious problems to appropriate staff
• Promote rehabilitation by encouraging positive activities and discouraging undesirable behaviors
• Perform tasks according to established rules and regulations

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Completion of Defensive Tactics and Standard First Aid/CPR training
• Ability to complete firearms certification training (by assignment)
• Possession of a valid driver's license

Pay

• $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential
• $0.75 per hour medium security or $1.50 maximum security differential
• $2.00 per hour shift differential for shifts between 12:00pm and 5:00am at 24/7 facilities
• Guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years
