About the role

The Correctional Officer II position is responsible for maintaining order and security within a correctional facility. This includes monitoring inmates, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, and providing necessary assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain order and security within the facility.
  • Monitor inmates and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Provide necessary assistance to inmates and staff.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents as required.
  • Document activities and incidents accurately and promptly.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must complete the training program at the Mississippi Department of Corrections or the equivalent within another state, as approved by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
