About the role
The Correctional Officer II position is responsible for maintaining order and security within a correctional facility. This includes monitoring inmates, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, and providing necessary assistance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain order and security within the facility.
- Monitor inmates and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Provide necessary assistance to inmates and staff.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents as required.
- Document activities and incidents accurately and promptly.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must complete the training program at the Mississippi Department of Corrections or the equivalent within another state, as approved by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
- Must have at least 6 years of relevant experience in a correctional or secure facility.
