Correctional Officer: Criminal Justice Instructor Parsons

About the role

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for a full‑time Criminal Justice: Correctional Officer Instructor position located at the Parsons Campus. Some travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides; keep them revised and up to date.
• Oversee motivation, conduct, safety, discipline, and appearance of students while on campus.
• Assist with student placement and follow‑up.
• Participate in student recruitment.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain student records.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Cooperate with outside agencies.
• Work with program advisory committees.
• Conduct visits to area employers.
• Establish and maintain good public relations within the college’s service area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the criminal justice field.
• POST certification preferred.
• Evidence of ability to teach students.
• Commitment to remain current in the criminal justice field.

Skills

• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to network with local law enforcement organizations.

Pay

Associate Instructor (A) salary range: $50,142 – $60,171, commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
