About the role
The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking multiple Correctional Officer positions across the state. All training is provided, and there are numerous career advancement opportunities available.
Responsibilities
- Enforce rules and regulations within the facility
- Monitor inmates' activities and movements
- Provide security and supervision
- Handle inmate complaints and grievances
- Assist with administrative tasks
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- A United States Citizen
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor charges involving perjury or false statements
- Pass a medical examination and drug test
- A good moral character as determined by a background investigation
