About the role

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking multiple Correctional Officer positions across the state. All training is provided, and there are numerous career advancement opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Enforce rules and regulations within the facility
• Monitor inmates' activities and movements
• Provide security and supervision
• Handle inmate complaints and grievances
• Assist with administrative tasks

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• A United States Citizen
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license
• No felony convictions or misdemeanor charges involving perjury or false statements
• Pass a medical examination and drug test
• A good moral character as determined by a background investigation

• $22 hourly as a trainee
