About the role
The Branchville Correctional Facility is a medium-security Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) facility for adult males. It offers various educational and vocational programs to promote rehabilitation and re-entry.
Responsibilities
- Maintain security of assigned areas, incarcerated individuals, and facilities.
- Count incarcerated individuals and ensure compliance with security procedures.
- Manage work details and escort individuals to/from various locations.
- Keep records and report on incarcerated individuals' movements and activities.
- Search housing areas and visitors for unauthorized items.
Requirements
- Possession of a High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE).
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Willingness to travel with reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work with and around incarcerated individuals.
- Ability to work mandatory/voluntary overtime in any shift, up to 16 consecutive hours per day.
- Ability to understand and utilize chemical agents properly.
- Strong critical thinking skills and effective communication abilities.
Qualifications
- Successfully complete personal protection training.
Skills
Keen observational and hearing skills are necessary to stay alert for potential dangers.

Pay
$22.00/hour base pay + $1/hour of differential pay, equating to $1,972.25 biweekly or $51,278.50 annually. Overtime pay may apply.
Schedule
Correctional Officers work 85.75 hours per 2-week pay period, consisting of 7 total shifts, including 1 weekend shift.
