Correctional Officer ACC (Full-Time)

About the role

The Missouri Department of Corrections seeks individuals to join its team. This position involves transforming lives through providing skills for community reintegration, with a focus on rehabilitation and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintains security in buildings/towers/other posts of an adult correctional facility
• Intervenes during emergencies or altercations and gains physical control of offenders
• Supervises movement of offenders inside/outside the correctional facility
• Counsels offenders on minor adjustment problems and refers serious issues to appropriate staff
• Performs work in accordance with established rules/regulations/post orders/specific instructions
• Performs other related work as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Completion of Defensive Tactics and Standard First Aid/CPR training
• Ability to complete firearms certification training (by assignment)
• Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license

Pay

Hourly Pay: $21.45 (medium security differential included)

Schedule

Shift differential: $2.00 per hour for shifts starting between 12:00pm and 5:00am at 24/7 facilities

Restrictive housing differential: $1.00 per hour for posts in restrict housing/segregation units

Benefits

Guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years
