About the Role

This position is located at the California State Prison in Corcoran, CA, conveniently situated off Highway 43. The facility is one hour from Lemoore Naval Air Station and Sequoias National Park, and two hours from Yosemite National Park and Pismo Beach. CSP-Corcoran offers an on-site fitness center.

Requirements

  • Refer to the Class Specification for Minimum Requirements.
  • Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If meeting qualifications through education, unofficial transcripts/diploma must be included for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
  • Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice must submit to a background investigation, including Live Scan fingerprinting and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment, followed by annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
  • Applicants with foreign degrees/transcripts must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency from a NACES-approved credential evaluation service.
  • Do not include confidential information (e.g., Social Security Number, birthdate, student ID, driver’s license number, examination results) on application documents.

In addition to meeting Minimum Requirements, desirable qualifications include:

Pay

Classification: Correctional Lieutenant
Salary Range: $9,767.00 - $12,290.00 per month

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires a 3% pay reduction in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. New state candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate range, if applicable.
