Correction Warden Analyst - 20029875

About the Role

The STG Coordinator acts on behalf of the Warden, gathering intelligence and managing gang-related activities within the institution. This position requires considerable knowledge of criminal justice or Ohio's adult rehabilitation and correction system.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing interviews to determine inmate classification levels and identify gang affiliation (e.g., passive, active, and disruptive).
  • Respond to possible STG (Security Threat Group) incidents and inform the Warden and/or staff of findings concerning STG activity.
  • Create and maintain inmate records in the DOTS Portal related to gang activity (e.g., film, notes, pictures, updated classification levels).
  • Implement and enforce STG policies and procedures institution-wide.
  • Serve as the administrative liaison between the Warden, Operation Support Center (OSC), STG Administrator, Legal Services, and Bureau of Classification.
  • Coordinate activities with the Bureau of Classification (e.g., notifications of inmate activity to determine appropriate actions).
  • Serve as the institution’s STG Committee Chairperson and conduct monthly meetings to discuss STG activity.
  • Provide training and technical support for security staff.
  • Research and respond to inquiries and complaints from the general public and outside agencies.
  • Prepare reports, maintain, and audit records according to department standards.
  • Serve on institutional committees.
  • Assist in staff development and training.
  • Assist with investigations.
  • Conduct site visits.
  • Act as duty officer as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 21 months of experience in Ohio’s adult rehabilitation and correction system.
  • 1 course or 3 months of experience in English grammar and composition or business communication.
  • Completion of an undergraduate major core program in criminal justice or a related field.
  • Equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
