About the role
Sage Hospitality Group is hiring a Corporate Travel Sales Manager for the Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas. Located in the heart of Austin’s Rainey Street District, Hotel Van Zandt offers 319 rooms and over 25,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and grows current hotel accounts
- Develops new accounts through networking, research, and surveys
- Manages accounts with travel throughout the year and negotiates rates for consistent travelers
- Utilizes yield management techniques to enhance financial performance
- Ensures prompt follow-up on customer needs and inquiries
- Manages file systems and develops strong customer relationships
- Represents the hotel and Sage Development Resources, Inc. professionally and with integrity
Requirements
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Six months minimum in sales or hotel experience preferred
- Knowledge of general sales techniques and yield management experience
- Highly developed customer service skills
- Effective business writing skills
- Dexterity and mobility to meet clients on and off premises, tour property, and attend functions
- Ability to read fine print and computer screens, observe rooms in poorly lit conditions, and understand and follow verbal/written instructions
- Ability to solve problems and make sound business decisions
- Strong and effective sales skills
Qualifications
- Effective business writing skills
- Ability to hear, speak, read, and write English fluently
- 12th grade level mathematics, spelling, and reading skills
- Effective business writing skills
- Ability to control expenses while traveling on behalf of the hotel
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean, and business-like appearance
