Corporate Senior Accountant - Amarillo, TX
About the role
The Senior Accountant at Bruckner Truck & Equipment is responsible for performing general ledger account and bank statement reconciliation, preparing journal entries, creating and maintaining periodic reporting, and assisting the Controller in preparation of miscellaneous financial and reporting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Meet deadlines and prioritize tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Utilize the accounting system, billing system, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Reconcile all operating accounts.
- Utilize statistical, economic and financial principles and techniques to prepare reports associated with the senior accountant role.
- Provide detailed analysis and perform audits relating to ongoing operations of the dealership.
- Prepare various financial documents for the operating departments.
- Aid in the month-end closing process by conducting research and making adjusting journal entries for any account discrepancies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Current CPA license preferred.
- Minimum four years’ experience in accounting or related business area.
- Preferred two years’ experience in public accounting.
- Proven track record of good communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read computer generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.
- Should be able to compute numbers manually, or by use of a calculator or computer.
- Must be able to use communicative skills to interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.
