Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules for multiple entities.
- Analyze financial data, identify variances, and recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
- Support audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and coordinating with external auditors.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and special financial projects that support organizational objectives.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience managing accounting activities across multiple entities or business units.
- Proficiency with Excel and enterprise accounting software systems.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex accounting issues and improve reporting processes.
- Effective communication with auditors, lenders, vendors, management, and internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff while serving as a technical resource for the team.
- Experience with nonprofit accounting, housing-related reporting, professional certification, or artificial intelligence tools is considered beneficial.
Pay
$45.00 to $50.00 per hour.
