Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and govern corporate-level safety policies, procedures, and compliance programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and company standards.
- Evaluate company-wide incident trends, leading and lagging indicators, and audit data to identify systemic risks and prioritize prevention strategies.
- Standardize best practices across districts to ensure consistent implementation and accountability.
- Partner with district and corporate leadership to align safety programs with operational goals and district strategy.
- Conduct detailed root-cause analyses following incidents or near-misses and prepare actionable corporate summaries for leadership.
- Translate complex data into clear, visual dashboards and reports for decision-making.
- Deliver executive-level PowerPoint presentations and written communications that summarize performance, trends, and initiatives.
- Develop and deliver corporate safety training modules, campaigns, and communication materials that reinforce a proactive safety culture.
- Collaborate closely with District Safety Officers to provide guidance, share insights, and support consistent application of company standards.
- Support leadership in coaching, mentoring, and capability building within district safety teams.
- Manage corporate safety audit programs and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively across all regions.
- Serve as a liaison with insurance representatives, regulatory agencies, and third-party auditors.
- Identify emerging regulatory changes, industry trends, and technologies to strengthen company programs and improve leading indicators.
What You Bring
- Experience & Education: 3+ years in a safety management role within a large, self-performing construction environment. Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Construction Management, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
- Skills & Competencies: Demonstrated expertise in OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and related safety regulations. Proven ability to design and manage company-wide safety programs and communicate effectively across all organizational levels. Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and data visualization tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to influence and engage through collaboration and credibility. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated critical thinking and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
- Certifications: Preferred: GSP, ASP, CHST, STSC, CSP. Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish).
