Seneca Foods is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our Corporate HR team. The Corporate Human Resources Manager plays a key role in supporting Seneca Foods’ workforce by partnering with leaders across all divisions and locations to drive effective human resources practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records and ensure the integrity of HRIS data for all employee lifecycle events, including hires, status changes, and terminations across all company locations.
- Coordinate and support full-cycle recruitment activities for corporate positions, including job description development, job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer letter preparation, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
- Administer and monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment posting requirements for all Seneca Foods locations, utilizing third-party vendors as appropriate.
- Manage the employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) process, including vendor administration, compliance reporting, audit support, and coordination of required HR staff training.
- Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, recruitment processes, employment practices, and regulatory compliance matters.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit required compliance reports, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action Plan (AAP), and Veteran reporting.
- Serve as the primary administrator for HR-related vendor access and system permissions, ensuring appropriate security controls and user management.
- Collaborate with leadership and management teams to support employee relations initiatives, workforce planning, and the consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with projects and support change management efforts associated with organizational growth, restructuring, acquisitions, and other business initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between employees, management, and external vendors regarding benefits, HR systems, and employment-related matters.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, employee experience, compliance, and overall HR service delivery.
- Support mergers, acquisition, integration, and due diligence activities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and other employment-related requirements.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience preparing and managing compliance reporting, including EEO-1, Affirmative Action Plans, and veteran reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- AAS degree or preferred bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and HR administration.
- Experience supporting multiple locations or a geographically dispersed workforce preferred.
- Manufacturing or food processing industry experience preferred.
Pay
Wage range based on skills, abilities and experience from $85k - $95k annual salary.
This is an on-site position at our Corporate Fairport, NY office.
