Corporate Generalist Attorney (Fintech or Financial Experience)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced contract attorney to support a fast-growing consumer fintech company’s lean legal function during a period of increased activity and integration. This is a broad generalist role covering:
- Commercial agreements
- Employment matters
- Corporate housekeeping and registrations
- Outside counsel coordination
- Partner-bank diligence
- Tri-party agreements
- Licensing initiatives
- Marketing compliance review
- Post-acquisition integration
The attorney will work closely with the company’s lead lawyer, taking ownership of day-to-day matters to allow her to focus on higher-level strategic priorities.
Requirements
- Meaningful consumer financial services or non-crypto fintech experience
- Understanding of regulatory considerations affecting consumer-facing financial products and marketing
- Familiarity with concepts involving the CFPB, UDAP, TCPA, and related compliance requirements
- Resourcefulness and ability to learn unfamiliar areas quickly
- Comfort working independently in a lean environment
Schedule
- ASAP start
- 30 hours per week
- Estimated duration of 6 months with potential to extend
- Fully remote with preference for East Coast candidates or those who can support East Coast working hours
Pay
Hourly rate between $110 and $115, based on qualifications, skillset, relevant experience, client needs, and project requirements.
