Corporate Finance Analyst-Senior (hybrid)
Location: Columbus, OH office (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)
About the role
The Corporate Finance team within Treasury is a dynamic, fast-paced environment with responsibility for managing the internal and external financing needs of NiSource and its subsidiaries. The team focuses on efficiently funding NiSource’s growth strategy and supporting its stakeholder commitments, while building and maintaining meaningful, collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners. The Financial Analyst provides value-added financial services to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; compares data from different sources to draw conclusions; uses effective approaches for choosing course of action or developing appropriate solutions; takes action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
- Compiles, organizes and formats data, including qualitative analysis required for internal and external reporting.
- Identifies and researches reporting issues, provides recommendations, assists with the adoption of new reporting requirements.
- Recognizes situations where the regulatory framework and rate case outcomes drive our business; supports regulatory initiatives by gathering data and preparing regulatory schedules and/or preparing pro-forma calculations, testimony and data requests; assists with review and analysis of regulatory documents; appreciates the application of the regulatory construct to our business.
- Understands terminology and developments. Knows when to and can apply technical knowledge to processes, procedures, and tasks.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of financial statements, metrics and measures, and key strategic business initiatives; understands and utilizes economic and industry data as it relates to job responsibilities.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the operating plan and role in the F&A organization; has a general knowledge of other departments' role in the F&A organization; collaboratively develops solutions between corporate and business units.

- Takes action to identify, analyze and improve existing processes within our organization to maximize opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness and meet new goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in business discipline.
- Strategic modeling experience across all three financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement).
- Knowledge of PC applications.
- 2-4 years of experience in finance, accounting, regulatory or a related field.
- Multiple functional experience.
- Financial acumen: understands basics of finance and accounting, including the relationships between segments of the financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow).
- Continuous improvement: originating action to improve existing conditions and processes; identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas, and implementing solutions.
- Data analysis: analyze information from a variety of sources to detect trends, associations, cause-effect relationships and other anomalies.
- Time management: effectively manage time to ensure deadlines are met and quality is achieved.
- Networking: pursue opportunities to network with different parts of finance as well as other parts of NiSource.
- Quality orientation: produces processes, tasks, and work products to ensure freedom from errors, omissions, or defects.
Qualifications
- CPA preferred.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

As a public utility, NiSource provides essential services to customers 24/7. Emergency needs can arise at various times throughout the year, including during storm season. Employees may be required to support emergency response efforts, which could include working outside normal hours or assisting with tasks outside of typical responsibilities.
Pay
Salary range: $82,200.00 - $123,200.00. The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
