Corporate Enterprise Network Engineer - Senior

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Enterprise Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), an agency of the Department of Defense. This position supports DLA Information Operations, Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), and related enterprise-wide functions at multiple DLA locations.

About the role

This role supports the Enterprise Telecommunications Network and Cloud functions by exercising skills and expertise in telecom engineering and operational support of current and new technologies. The engineer will perform a variety of network engineering tasks under general supervision, developing requirements to manage tasks from inception to conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Develop required specifications for simple to moderately complex network problems.
• Apply expert knowledge of the following protocols and services for both IPv4 and IPv6: OSPF, Multi-Protocol BGP, MPLS (L2VPN, L3VPN, VPWS, TE, CSC), Multicast (MSDP, PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, Multicast VPN), Quality of Service, VPN Routing and Forwarding, and Stateless Firewall Filters.
• Work with current and anticipated network equipment, including COTS 10 Gigabit Ethernet WAN and associated software and hardware.
• Coordinate with Task Order PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
• Plan, perform, and document laboratory assessments of hardware and software for both classified and unclassified DISN Services to ensure proper connectivity and operations between the DLA WAN, DLA’s NOC, and DISA’s NOCs.
• Coordinate with the government customer to create a Technology Assessment Plan (TAP) including objectives, scope, equipment, configurations, technical approach, procedures, schedules, and roles.
• Generate and update design drawings and prepare After Action Reports (AAR) documenting approach, results, recommendations, and supporting rationale.
• Identify new and emerging network capabilities, developing product evaluation and selection criteria.
• Produce formal documentation of recommendations for executive briefings.
• Ensure interoperability between NIPR, SIPR, and DISN network equipment and services.
• Plan and track implementation tasks, creating supporting configuration artifacts such as network maps, detailed designs, test plans, operations readiness test reports, device configurations, and maintenance processes.
• Provide expertise in Wireless Technologies, IPv6 transition in concert with NIPR & SIPR, Network Operations (including network computer defense and situational awareness), DISN Video Teleconferencing, VOIP, Digital Streaming Video, and related technologies.
• Coordinate, plan, and implement technology refreshes and upgrades to NIPR systems and equipment.
• Identify and evaluate emerging standards as they relate to NIPR & SIPR and DLA/DOD mandates.
• Provide tier II/III troubleshooting support and network engineering services to support the full WAN lifecycle, including design, implementation, installation, testing, and transition to sustainment.
• Analyze hardware, hardware configuration, security policy, network management, network protocols, and security solutions in support of network functions related to LAN, WAN (NIPR & SIPR), and DISN interoperability.

Requirements

• Must have a Secret Clearance with IT-I eligibility.
• Must have an Active CCNP Enterprise certification.
• Must have or be able to obtain Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher certification; Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) certification within 60 days after start.
• Must have one of the following DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level III certifications:
  • CASP+ CE
  • CCNP Security
  • CISA
  • CISSP (or Associate)
  • GCED
  • GCIH
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience in the following:
  • Deployment of WAN networks.
  • Deployment of a separate Pulse Secure Remote Access VPN architecture.
  • Tier II/III troubleshooting support.
  • Design and implementation of WAN equipment on NIPR and SIPR.
  • Technology refreshes and upgrades.
  • Wireless technologies.
  • IPv6 transition.
  • Tier III network troubleshooting.

Pay

Target salary range: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00. The salary range is an estimate and will be determined based on the individual’s education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract parameters, and organizational requirements.

Schedule

• Hybrid schedule: Monday & Friday in-office (Pearl Harbor, HI).
• Day shift: Monday – Friday. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
• 10%-25% travel required.
