Corporate Enterprise Network Engineer - Senior

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Enterprise Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), an agency of the Department of Defense. This position supports DLA Information Operations, Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), and related enterprise-wide functions at multiple DLA locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop requirements and manage tasks from inception to conclusion under general supervision.
• Apply expert knowledge of the following protocols and services for both IPv4 and IPv6:
  • OSPF
  • Multi-Protocol BGP
  • MPLS (L2VPN, L3VPN, VPWS, TE, CSC)
  • Multicast (MSDP, PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, Multicast VPN)
  • Quality of Service
  • VPN Routing and Forwarding
  • Stateless Firewall Filters
• Develop specifications for simple to moderately complex network problems.
• Utilize expertise with current and anticipated network equipment, including COTS 10 Gigabit Ethernet WAN and associated software/hardware.
• Coordinate with Task Order PM, COTRs, and government representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction.
• Plan, perform, and document laboratory assessments of hardware and software for classified and unclassified DISN Services to ensure connectivity and operations between the DLA WAN, DLA’s NOC, and DISA’s NOCs.
• Create a Technology Assessment Plan (TAP) including objectives, scope, equipment/configurations, technical approach, procedures, schedules, and roles/responsibilities for WAN technology refresh and upgrades.
• Generate and update design drawings and prepare After Action Reports (AAR) documenting approach, results, recommendations, and supporting rationale.
• Identify new and emerging network capabilities, developing product evaluation and selection criteria.
• Produce formal documentation of recommendations for executive briefings.
• Ensure interoperability between NIPR, SIPR, and DISN network equipment and services.
• Plan and track implementation tasks, creating supporting configuration artifacts such as network maps, detailed designs, test plans, operations readiness test reports, device configurations, and maintenance processes.
• Apply knowledge and understanding of the following technologies:
  • Wireless Technologies
  • IPv6 in concert with NIPR & SIPR transition
  • Network Operations including network computer defense and situational awareness
  • DISN Video Teleconferencing over NIPR & SIPR
  • VOIP considering DISA Switched Network (DSN) efforts
  • Digital Streaming Video
• Coordinate, plan, and implement technology refreshes and upgrades to NIPR systems and equipment.
• Identify and evaluate emerging standards related to NIPR & SIPR and DLA/DOD mandates.
• Provide tier II/III troubleshooting support and network engineering services to support the full WAN lifecycle, including design, implementation, installation, testing, and transition to sustainment.
• Analyze hardware, hardware configuration, security policy, network management, network protocols, and security solutions to support network functions related to LAN, WAN (NIPR & SIPR), and DISN interoperability.

Requirements

• Must have a Secret Clearance with IT-I eligibility.
• Must have an Active CCNP Enterprise certification.
• Must have or be able to obtain Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher certification; Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) certification within 60 days after start.
• Must have one of the following DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level III certifications:
  • CASP+ CE
  • CCNP Security
  • CISA
  • CISSP (or Associate)
  • GCED
  • GCIH
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience in the following:
  • Deployment of WAN networks
  • Deployment of a separate Pulse Secure Remote Access VPN architecture
  • Tier II/III troubleshooting support
  • Design and implementation of WAN equipment on NIPR and SIPR
  • Technology refreshes and upgrades
  • Wireless technologies
  • IPv6 transition and transition
  • Tier III network troubleshooting

Pay

Target salary range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00. The salary range is an estimate and will be determined based on the individual’s education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract parameters, and organizational requirements.

Schedule

• Hybrid schedule - Monday & Friday in Springfield, VA
• Day shift, Monday – Friday; may be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs
• 10%-25% travel required
