Corporate Engagement Manager
About the role
The Corporate Engagement Manager supports the strategic growth and execution of Augusta University's corporate engagement and workforce development initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Engagement, this position plays a key role in cultivating and managing a portfolio of corporate and industry partners while advancing workforce development strategies aligned with the academic, research, clinical, workforce, economic development, and innovation strengths.
Responsibilities
- Represent Augusta University in meetings and events with corporate, industry, and workforce stakeholders.
- Support outreach efforts that elevate awareness of the University's partnership and workforce capabilities.
- Maintain accurate records of corporate partnerships using institutional CRM or tracking systems.
- Support budget tracking, invoicing, and reporting related to partnership activities.
- Ensure compliance with University System of Georgia policies and institutional guidelines.
- Manage and steward a portfolio of corporate and industry partners, serving as a primary relationship manager.
- Support the identification, cultivation, and expansion of new corporate partnerships aligned with institutional priorities.
- Career engagement across academic colleges, research centers, healthcare units, and professional education programs.
- Aid in the development, routing, and coordination of partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding, letters of interest, and engagement plans in collaboration with appropriate university officials and approval authorities.
- Support Augusta University's corporate engagement and leasing initiatives by facilitating corporate occupancy and partnership activities within the Georgia Cyber Center and other applicable university-managed spaces and advancing strategic collaborations with resident/industry partners.
- Support the design and implementation of workforce development initiatives aligned with employer and regional needs.
- Collaborate with academic units and professional education teams to align training programs with industry demand.
- Partner with university continuing education, career services, and academic units to facilitate corporate partnerships that generate customized training, internships, apprenticeships, experiential learning, and talent pipeline programs.
- Monitor workforce trends and employer feedback to inform continuous improvement.
- Support the development of corporate partnership opportunities that may generate added revenue value through workforce training, executive and professional education, sponsored research, sponsorships, facility utilization, licensing, innovation partnerships, and philanthropy-adjacent opportunities.
- Coordinate such opportunities with the appropriate university offices, including Research, Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement, Innovation & Commercialization, Continuing Education, GCITC, Legal, Supply Management, and academic units.
- Support strategic planning, reporting, and performance tracking for corporate engagement initiatives.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for leadership and external partners.
- Cross-functional collaboration across engagement, workforce, research, and advancement teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in community relations, external affairs, or related fields.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in related field preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Experience within a public research university, academic medical center, or economic development organization.
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge in student career counseling; Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills; Strong strategic planning and organizational skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to lead and motivate a geographically distributed team; Ability to maintain confidentiality, sound judgment, discretion, and political savvy.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: 11
Salary: Minimum $56,600/annually
Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
