About the role
The Corporate Counsel, Lega Operations will help shape the future of healthcare by delivering practical legal counsel in a global, fast-paced environment. As a Counsel at AbbVie, you'll support business integrity and innovation by applying foundational legal knowledge to real-world challenges. This role offers early exposure to high impact work and the opportunity to grow into a strategic legal advisor. We are seeking a business-oriented Counsel to support the Operations function, including Operations Transformation initiatives, manufacturing facility acquisitions, and contract manufacturing arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on compliance, regulatory, and business operations matters
- Partner with internal stakeholders to assess legal risks and support ethical, compliant business decisions
- Interpret evolving U.S. laws and regulations in connection with advisory on practical application
- Communicate legal concepts in clear, business-relevant language to cross-functional partners
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on projects, contracts, or investigations that impact business strategy
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of services agreements related to manufacturing operations
- Support various stages of manufacturing facility transactions, including legal due diligence, coordinating with cross-functional teams on operational readiness, and providing post-close integration support to align acquired facilities with company standards, contracts, and compliance frameworks.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in job location
- 1+ years of relevant legal experience, with some in-house or healthcare compliance experience preferred.
Preferred
- 3+ years of legal experience, with some in-house or healthcare compliance experience preferred.
- Exposure to biopharma, healthcare, or life sciences compliance topics
- Strong legal writing, research, and communications skills
- Interest in growing a legal career in a complex, global organization
Pay
$141,500 - $268,500 USD
