About the role
The Corporate Counsel Lead will serve as Privacy, Cybersecurity, & Data Protection Counsel, providing strategic legal advice on global privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, and artificial-intelligence regulations while supporting compliance initiatives and business objectives across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Advise stakeholders on global privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data-protection laws and regulations.
- Serve as the privacy lead for India and support regional compliance initiatives.
- Drive the implementation and enhancement of privacy and data-protection compliance programmes.
- Develop, update, and maintain privacy procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide practical business guidance.
- Lead privacy-awareness and training initiatives.
- Support regulatory audits, investigations, complaints, and interactions with supervisory authorities.
- Manage privacy incidents and personal-data breaches, including notification assessments and response activities.
- Advise on data-protection impact assessments, transfer-impact assessments, records of processing, and legitimate-interest assessments.
- Support contract drafting and negotiation relating to privacy, cybersecurity, and data-protection requirements.
Requirements
- Law degree or equivalent legal qualification from an accredited institution.
- Juris Doctor or equivalent legal credential.
- Significant experience practising law in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
- Advanced knowledge of global privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data-protection regulations.
- Strong legal analysis, risk-assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience advising business stakeholders on complex regulatory and compliance matters.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and legal-communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with legal, compliance, technology, and business teams.
