About the role
Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a smart, experienced, and highly motivated litigator to help manage its worldwide portfolio of government enforcement, litigation, and regulatory matters, and advise the company on a wide variety of legal and business risk management issues.
Responsibilities
- Handling and supervising a wide range of government disputes and regulatory engagements across all of Amazon’s businesses
- Directly interacting with government officials, including local, state, and federal regulators and law enforcement
- Selecting and managing outside counsel
- Assessing risk and coordinating with senior leadership on risk management
- Counseling internal stakeholders on a broad spectrum of complex and often novel legal and policy issues
- Managing all stages of both affirmative and defensive litigation, including discovery
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
- 5+ years of litigation and regulatory experience
