About the role
A competitive base salary of $110,000 - $130,000 per year is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package including travel perks, PTO, holidays, insurance, and a 401(k) with match.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal legal advisor to executive leadership on construction-related legal matters
- Oversee drafting, negotiation, and interpretation of construction contracts (owner, subcontractor, vendor, and design professional agreements)
- Advises on claims, change orders, delays, scope disputes, and risk allocation
- Manage construction disputes and litigation, including coordination with outside counsel
- Support compliance with construction-related federal, state, and local regulations
- Partner with operations and project teams on risk mitigation, insurance, bonding, and licensing matters
- Provide training and guidance on contract compliance and legal best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in construction, real estate, or commercial law
- Prior in-house experience or support of contractors, construction managers, or design-build firms preferred
- Strong working knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., AIA) and dispute resolution
