About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled United States-based Employment Lawyer to join our growing legal team. This position is responsible for providing expert advice on a wide range of employment and labor law issues, including hiring, performance management and discharge, employment disputes/wrongful termination claims, disability accommodation, wage and hour, employee privacy, and other relevant labor and employment matters. The role involves managing litigation, overseeing employee form agreements, conducting training across all geographies, supervising outside counsel, and liaising with local counsel. As a key member of our legal team, you will help influence operations and policies, ensuring compliance and best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure employment practices are proper, well-understood, and compliant with regional legal requirements.
  • Draft and maintain employment-related policies required for global operations, including ethics, anti-corruption, and anti-harassment policies.
  • Support the human resources team through operational guidance and process training.
  • Stay informed on employment and labor law issues affecting Talkdesk in our geographies.
  • Balance competing priorities of various constituencies.

Requirements

  • Law degree required and current license to practice in California or Washington State.
  • Minimum of 5 years of law firm or equivalent in-house experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in international employment law.
  • Superior writing and presentation skills.
  • Superior communication and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, proactive, and requires little hands-on supervision.

Location and Travel

This position will be located in California or Washington State. Some travel is required to support and train in the geographies where we conduct business.

Pay

Pay Range: $179,000 – $230,000. Based on level and role, the employee may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of equity and short-term incentives such as bonus or commission.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Primarily office-environment work involving extended periods of sitting or standing and computer-based tasks. Limited lifting, with equipment usage restricted to computer-related tools (keyboards, mouse, etc.).
