Corporate Attorney

About the role

Varnum LLP seeks an attorney to join the Corporate Practice Team in one of our Michigan offices. The attorney will assist the team in business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private offerings, capital restructuring, and similar transactions.

Responsibilities

• Handle business transactions including mergers and acquisitions, private offerings, and capital restructuring
• Perform general corporate work
• Review and draft contracts
• Serve as first or second chair on transactions
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high responsiveness
• Provide outstanding customer/client service

Requirements

• 5–12 years of law firm experience
• Demonstrated first or second chair experience on transactions
• Expertise in general corporate work, contract review and drafting, and merger and acquisition transactions
• Excellent academic credentials
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Outstanding customer/client service skills
• Admission to the Michigan bar (or willingness to become admitted)
