About the role

Nelson Mullins is seeking a midlevel associate to join its emerging companies group in its Chicago office. The Nelson Mullins Venture Capital and Technology Team advises companies, founders, management teams, and investors in entrepreneurial ventures, in addition to representing emerging and growth stage companies in corporate and financing matters. The work covers both legal and business needs at every stage of growth, from formation and early funding to employment, tax, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, including mergers and acquisitions transactions from formation through exit.

Responsibilities

• Advise companies, founders, management teams, and investors in entrepreneurial ventures
• Represent emerging and growth stage companies in corporate and financing matters
• Handle legal and business needs at every stage of growth, including formation, early funding, employment, tax, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and mergers and acquisitions transactions

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of meaningful corporate transactional experience in a law firm setting
• Emerging company and venture capital experience is strongly preferred
• Knowledgeable in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities, and general corporate matters
• Strong writing, analytical, and communications skills
• Excellent academic record
• Admitted to and in good standing with the Illinois bar

Pay

In Illinois, the salary/wage range for this position is $215,000 - $270,000 annually. Pay is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses.
