About The Role

The BSA/AML Investigator reports to the Corporate EDD Supervisor and is responsible for the monitoring and investigation of High Risk Customers (HRC) within the BSA/AML/CFT Department in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures to determine if further action may be necessary. The BSA/AML Investigator will also prepare Questionable Activity Referrals (QARs) based on the findings from their assigned HRC investigations. The BSA/AML Investigator will document findings in the HRCR review folder, update the DDM review module, and complete the review in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures. This is a Corporate position which may be located in an available bank division across our nine-state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, TX, UT, WA, or WY. Qualifications

  • Education Required/Preferred: Associate Degree Two-year College Degree in Business, Intelligence Studies, Accounting, Finance, Law, Criminology, or related field.
  • Experience Required/Preferred: 3 years Demonstrated banking experience with branch/back office operations, compliance, audit, lending or a related function. 1 year investigation experience preferably in law enforcement, security, fraud, or anti-money-laundering.
  • Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of general Bank products and services, particularly those offered in a community banking environment, including understanding of bank operations and the flow of funds through a financial institution. Advanced knowledge of BSA/AML regulations and compliance as it applies to BSA reporting requirements, suspicious activity for money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud. Knowledge of AML and terrorist financing red flags and typologies as well as businesses who pose higher AML/CFT risk.

Employee must be a team player with a passion for customer service and a proven ability to build rapport and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Employee must be well organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced work environment and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Employee must have excellent search and navigation skills. Ability to learn other computer programs and systems in a timely fashion. Ability to serve as a backup for other staff members in a mutually supportive team work environment. Employee must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel Occasional travel required: (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.
