Corporate Accounting Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supports Accounts Payable, Revenue and Billing, Payroll, and Financial Statement preparation
• Reviews and approves payable invoices to vendors
• Prepares periodic reporting and analytics on aged payables
• Administers the Corporate Credit Card program
• Prepares and reviews month-end close and journal entries
• Performs and reviews balance sheet reconciliations and investigates and resolves variances
• Supports financial statement audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
• Manages Federal Excise Tax (FET) payments and performs related reconciliations
• Oversees 1099 management, including preparation, filing, and vendor coordination
• Collaborates with external tax preparers to provide necessary documentation and support
• Maintains key internal control procedures and ensures compliance with Company policies
• Provides vision, leadership, and guidance to direct reports
• Coaches and mentors staff to foster a high-performance work environment
• Facilitates regular team communications and meetings with established agendas
• Ensures adherence to deadlines and data accuracy across departments
• Liaises with external auditors, tax preparers, and other third parties as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting-related experience
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity
• Proficient in financial software packages and ERP systems
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in work products
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
• Able to provide feedback and coaching to team members
• Adaptable to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment
