Corporate Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager will serve as a key partner to finance leadership and provide corporate-level accounting oversight across multiple entities and divisional accounting teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong accounting professional who enjoys being more than a processor of information. Our client is looking for someone who can review the numbers, recognize when something doesn’t look right, investigate the issue, and drive it through resolution. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role for someone who wants to have an impact and be trusted to take ownership of accounting issues rather than simply identify them.

Responsibilities

• Lead key components of the monthly and year-end close process
• Own and coordinate the balance sheet reconciliation process
• Review journal entries, accruals, allocations and divisional accounting activity
• Analyze general ledger activity and identify unusual transactions, errors and accounting issues
• Strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties and accounting processes
• Identify control weaknesses and implement practical corrective actions
• Provide accounting guidance and oversight to divisional teams
• Support internal/external audits and corporate reporting requirements
• Help improve accounting processes, systems and financial data integrity

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Experience in a large, multi-entity or decentralized organization highly valued
• Public accounting + corporate accounting experience is a plus
