This role will lead and/or actively participate in closing the books for MAT Holdings, create intercompany, manage intercompany shared costs, manage the maintenance of the Global Chart of Accounts in SAP, manage the Fixed Assets process, and other ad-hoc projects. Principal Responsibilities Lead a team of 3 staff accountantsWork cross-functionally with all global business unit controllers, other Finance departments and other departments within the MAT Holdings companyManagement of month end close accounting for MAT Holdings as well as certain other MAT Capital companies including reporting and analyticsAssist with the global MAT close processMaintain the SAP Chart of Accounts and other master data areas in SAP including Vendor setupsContribute to the workflow of purchases and capital expenditures for MAT Holdings and other domestic entitiesEnsure all domestic entity fixed assets are properly accounted for by monitoring the end-to-end process including classification, useful life, acquisitions, transfers, depreciation, disposals, and reportingMonitor and report on CIP (Construction in Progress) and work with global locations to ensure timely capitalization of projects. Preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations for MAT Holdings and certain other MAT Capital entitiesPerform and present to management the annual cost center budgets for MAT HoldingsAssist with the year end auditLead and/or participate in evaluating and improving processes for MAT’s business units. Making or assisting in making oral and written presentations to management related to assessments/improvements by discussing process deficiencies, recommending corrective actions and other suggestions for improvements in operations and/or reductions in costs. Provide appropriate training and roll-out of accounting related processes to global locationsParticipate in due diligence and other special projects as required. Qualifications Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data in and an organized mannerPresentation skills, the ability to communicate to an audience in a formal settingMakes sound decisions in a timely and confident mannerHighly organized, results driven and an ability to work in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment handling multiple tasksA demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, to take initiative, to work independently of day-to-day supervision, and to communicate effectively at all levels of the organizationThinks conceptually and intuitively, linking problems and symptoms to identify underlying causes and root issuesEducation/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience and a CPA certificationMinimum 6-8 years’ experience in Finance and/or Accounting including 2-3 years of supervisory experience; a combination of public and industry experience preferredA solid knowledge and understanding of general accounting methods, principles, and practicesProven ability to focus on details and perform all required procedures timely and with accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AccessKnowledge and working background with SAP preferredBlackline experience a plusAbility to travel domestically and internationallyThe posted salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
