Corporate Accountant
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist with weekly, monthly, yearly accounting processes (accounts payable, expense reports processing)
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies
- Manage state and local city registrations, licenses, and related tax filings
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, monitoring performance against targets
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data
- Assist with the identification, design, and implementation of AI automation tools
- Participate in tasks and research with the current Strategic Plan implementation
- Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Accounting to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased efficiency
- Utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance financial analysis, reporting, and accounting processes
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
- Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles
- Experience and proficiency with ERP software (Deltek is a plus)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced skills with Excel and Word)
- Experience in Co-pilot, Chat GPT, Power BI (or other financial dashboard software) is advantageous
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Work Environment
This role typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings or training sessions. Hybrid (2-3 days per week in office) schedule is available after initial training and onboarding.
Pay
Estimated base salary range: $65,000 – $85,000 per year. Final salary offered may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law.
