CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Day-to-day and month-end bookkeeping (AP/AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries)
• Accounting for each stage of the property lifecycle: Capitalization of acquisition costs (real estate held for sale / inventory accounting), tracking and capitalizing renovation costs, and allocating project costs
• Recording gain/loss on sale and processing closing statements
• Monthly and quarterly closing (trial balance preparation, account analysis and reconciliation)
• Preparing reports for Japan HQ (translating U.S. GAAP-based figures into the format required by Japan-side reporting)
• Supporting external CPA/tax preparer engagements (annual audit, tax filings)
• Supporting cash flow management (payment scheduling, cash needs forecasting)
• Vendor invoice processing and payment execution
• Assisting with internal controls and process improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

• Approximately 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience
• Practical experience with international accounting (IFRS, AP/AR, month-end close)
• Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently

PREFERRED

• Business-level communication in both Japanese and English (including report writing)
