Corporate Accountant
Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in accounting and finance functions for the residential, commercial, and Netherlands portfolio (55+ entities).
- Support the month-end process, including the preparation and review of financial reports.
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends and address necessary adjustments.
- Manage A/R and A/P discrepancies.
- Ensure appropriate and accurate accruals are recorded (tax, insurance, etc.).
- Complete and manage assigned monthly reconciliations (bank, balance sheet recs, security deposits, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Comply with regulations for properties with low-income and other rental restrictions.
- Review and ensure compliance with qualification requirements for new residents and annual recertifications.
- Ensure charges to residents for rent and utilities adhere to prescribed guidelines.
- Support property staff with requirements and provide reporting and audit support as needed.
- Manage the registered agent process, including overseeing required annual filings.
- Manage the Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) process, including collecting deposit slips, entering payment details in the system, tracking HAP delinquency, and ensuring accuracy.
- Support the oversight and preparation of the annual budgeting process.
- Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting/finance or tax management
CPA preferred
Experience with Yardi real estate software is a plus
