About the role

This position requires an individual who can work in a busy environment, possesses solid communication skills, is detail oriented and very organized. In the event of an absence, the position will be filled by adequately trained personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all truck scheduling, deliveries, pickups, and incoming freight.
  • Ensure proper allocation of trucking resources and make the most efficient and cost-effective transportation decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with Sales and Production to fulfill all sales/shipping requirements, including shipping delays and/or product rejection.
  • Assist in processing freight claims and communicate with accounting on returns.
  • Gather all info for outbound transfers for all warehouses.
  • Schedule POs that are requested by purchasing to be picked up.
  • Schedule LTL and truckloads daily.
  • Utilize TMS system(s) for automation of truck scheduling and tracking shipments, and maintain Excel reports for tracking on-time deliveries to customers.
  • Use PowerBI and other reporting outlets to analyze current state data to ensure customer shipments occur on time and in full.
  • Support Fleet Operations when necessary to maintain business continuity.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of Department software & technical solutions.
  • Participate in business reviews with vendor partners to ensure contractual deliveries are achieved as negotiated.
  • Participate in the invoicing review process to ensure accuracy and support the Accounts Payable team.
  • Directly support the development and tracking of department Key Performance Indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in personal development training opportunities to enhance business acumen and soft skills.
  • Serve as lead liaison for internal “customer” departments (Customer Solutions, Sales, Procurement, Demand Planning) to solve ad-hoc events that challenge the flow of forecasted business operations.
  • Assist department leadership in the creation of training programs and SOPs.
  • Other responsibilities with similar skill and work conditions as assigned.

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
  • Must adhere to all corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and all Food and Employee Safety policies.
  • Must adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
  • Responsible for reporting suspicious packages, activities, and individuals.
  • If monitoring CCPs (Critical Control Points), must be trained in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and adhere to approved HACCP plan(s).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 – 2 years of related transportation experience required.
  • Ability to travel; pre-employment and biennial screening of Motor Vehicle Record and personal automobile insurance coverage in accordance with the Blount Fine Foods Employee Handbook.

Pay

$50,000 - $55,000 per year

Schedule

2nd shift: 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM
