About the role
The Cornell Global AI Initiative at Cornell University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to support research and program development at the intersection of AI, society, and global communities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to research on topics such as Human-Centered AI, Community-Centered AI, Responsible AI, AI and Culture, and AI Safety, with particular attention to the impacts of AI technologies in global and underserved contexts.
- Develop independent research projects aligned with the goals of the Cornell Global AI Initiative.
- Collaborate with researchers across disciplines to study how AI systems interact with culture, institutions, and social inequalities around the world.
- Engage with global environments and underserved communities through research and program development.
Qualifications
- A PhD in HCI, AI, NLP, Information Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- A strong research record, including publications in top-tier HCI, AI, or interdisciplinary venues.
- Experience conducting research in global environments and/or engaging underserved communities.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
