About the Role
Join Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division as a Machining I operator in Corinth, MS. You’ll work in a fast-paced, safety- and quality-focused environment, loading and unloading machines with minimal operator input while contributing to a circular economy and sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload machines in a high-volume, team-based setting
- Interpret blueprints and perform quality checks per standard work requirements
- Understand and apply torque requirements and processes
- Operate hand tools, cordless tools, gauges, vibration tools, and overhead hoists
- Move large components using reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, or electric pallet jacks
- Wear PPE, including detail suits, hoods, and/or respirators as required
- Operate CNC controls, automated packaging equipment, and check incoming material
- Enter data into various computer systems, including email
- Cross-train in other Salary Grade 2 roles (Disassembly, Cleaning, Assembly, Logistics) as needed
Requirements
- Basic computer skills (read standard work documents, enter data)
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents
- Must meet physical demands: stand for 10+ hours per shift, lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs., walk/squat/bend for 15–30 minutes, and wear PPE (including respirators if required)
- Flexible schedule to accommodate shift work
Qualifications
- Prior use of hoists
- Knowledge of engines and components
- Experience with hand tools, air tools, gauges, and pneumatic tools
- Previous machining experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Pay
Starting hourly rate: $18.35 (negotiable based on skills/experience). Additional 7% night shift premium for 2nd shift.
Schedule
- 2nd shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday – Friday
- 40-hour workweek with potential overtime
